After knowing what exactly I will be doing for my FMP and having done a few studio sessions with Laiara, I would next be having to email and confirming the event with the Darkroom Bar. I first contacted the music production technicians to let them know about what my event is, asking what kind of equipment is available for me to use for this and how booking this event would work. I also mentioned the instruments that I am looking to have perform, the duration of the gig, and asking if I were able to have helping hands in setting up my event, since I would not be able to do this all by myself. Alba emailed me back, mentioning that I should contact the Darkroom Bar directly, informing them about what I have planned, where they can let me know about their PA system and equipment that they have available for me to use. For additional equipment, I would have to look through what there is on the Orb booking website since UAL provides these for us students in the Kit Room, rather helpful than me buying the equipment myself, which is quite expensive. She also mentioned that I am also able to book an electric guitar and a bass guitar, however the university wouldn’t be able to provide me with a drum kit. I will need to ask around for fellow students to help me in setting up for my event.
I have contacted the Darkroom Bar, and I am now just waiting for their response to my email. After hearing from them, I will be able to ask them about their PA system, go there and see how it works and picture how I can set up the instruments with the space that they have.
Hence, I would need to figure out and be set on details on how I want the event to be carried out, being the setup, what instruments I want to have perform, the setlist (for example, whether it be five original songs and two covers, to know how long the event will be), how many vocalists there will be, the musicians that I will have to ask around for.
