FINAL INDIVIDUAL PROJECT: USE OF DAWS

For my final project, I used Logic instead of Ableton, my usual DAW. The main reason for this was actually because of the timecode – I wanted everything to be perfectly at the right time, however Ableton doesn’t have the timecode function. I was going to choose Ableton initially because I am used to its functionality, especially with creating my own synths and using samples with the use of Simpler and my MIDI keyboard. When setting up the timecode with the video on Logic, I was planning to use whatever synths I needed to create from Ableton and put it onto Logic, however, in the end, decided to stick with Logic. This actually helped me get used to Logic and using its pre-set instruments and I ended up using a lot more audios than I thought. Even though knowing that Pro Tools is actually really fit for postproduction, it is not my DAW of choice. I’m glad that I chose to stick to one DAW because for the animation that I chose to do, my project on had so many different aspects to it, despite it being shorter than the other animation choice for the individual project, and because there was so much within those 3-4 minutes, it still took a very long time. This was because while getting used to my recently bought DAW, I had to go through each (but not all) instruments to find ones that fit to what I wanted to add sound to and searching different sites for audio samples as well as recording my own audios.
